fsyncDATA

The GCC Data Platform Benchmark

Every GCC data leader is eventually asked “is that normal?” by a board or a parent, and every DBA is asked “why does this cost so much?” by finance. The GCC Data Platform Benchmark answers both, for India’s centers specifically.

It exists only for the people who contribute to it. The survey runs every January, and members receive the readout every April.

What it measures

Estate and engines

What runs where

Engine mix by sector and center stage, managed vs self-managed per engine, versions in production and end-of-support exposure, migration intent.

Cost

What it really costs

Database and warehouse spend as a share of the cloud bill, spend growth against data growth, cost per terabyte stored and processed per platform, budget ownership.

Reliability

What production does

RPO and RTO targets against the last tested result, DR drill frequency, on-call pages and severity-1 incidents per engine, freshness misses by region.

People and readiness

Who runs it

DBA, DBRE and database engineer attrition by city and sector, databases per DBA, on-call rotation size, DPDP and AI data foundation readiness.

How responses are protected

  • Collected by the secretariat and held on India-resident infrastructure.
  • Aggregated and anonymised before anyone, fsyncDATA included, sees results.
  • Any cell with fewer than five responses is suppressed.
  • Raw responses are deleted after aggregation.
  • The members’ council audits the process every year.

Who receives it

Every member who contributed, in both tiers, receives the same report. Guild members receive the engine-level cuts for their guilds; Circle members receive the estate-level view. fsyncDATA receives exactly what a member receives, and nothing more. The benchmark is never sold and never used to approach anyone.

Apply, ask, or nominate someone better

Practitioners apply to a Guild. Leaders request a Circle invitation. Anyone may nominate a peer. Every message to the secretariat is answered by a person within two working days.
